Bug-fix release for the 1.x series: restores compatibility with PHPUnit 13.4 and prepares for PHPUnit 13.5. Supported versions are unchanged (~12.5.24 on PHP >= 8.3, ~13.0 on PHP >= 8.4.1), and no test needs changing. Upgrade if your lock file resolves PHPUnit 13.4.0 or later: with 1.1.4, every problem below went unnoticed, as runs still exited 0.

Bug fixes

  • PHPUnit 13.4 compatibility. PHPUnit 13.4.0 changed three internals counit relies on, so with 1.1.4 Swoole runs silently fell back to blocking mode (no concurrency), tearDown()/#[After] and post-condition hooks ran while the test body was still running, and mock expectations met or violated after a yield were checked too early. All three work again. (dcec655)
  • JUnit report and test-run history on PHPUnit 13.5. PHPUnit's planned 13.5 changes to its event dispatcher would have left failures that happen after a yield out of the JUnit report (the run exits 2, the report shows none) and miscounted assertions. counit now handles both the current and the new layout. Changes

  • No more silent fallbacks. When a PHPUnit internal counit depends on changes, the affected feature still falls back rather than failing the run, but now says so in a one-line counit notice: on STDERR. A normal run prints none; COUNIT_SILENCE_TEARDOWN_NOTICE=1 silences them. Exit codes are unchanged. (210e913)
