InstaTrans v1.0.0 — Initial Release

Welcome to the initial stable release of InstaTrans, a lightweight macOS utility for in-place text translation and grammar correction.

Key Features

  • Dual Global Hotkeys: Press Option + T to translate or Option + F to fix grammar/spelling in-place.
  • Triple Engines: Supported by macOS Native Translation, Google Gemini API, and local Ollama LLMs.
  • Universal Text Capture: Accesses macOS Accessibility APIs first, falling back to simulated keyboard copy/paste for Electron/Chromium apps (e.g. Slack, WhatsApp) with clipboard history preservation.
  • Keychain Security: Securely stores API credentials inside the macOS System Keychain.

Quick Start

  1. Download and decompress the attached InstaTrans-v1.0.0.zip file below.
  2. Drag InstaTrans.app to your /Applications folder and run it.
  3. Grant Accessibility permission when prompted under System Settings.
