First release.

  • Tap a modifier on its own and it sends a key of your choosing; hold it, or press it with anything
else, and it is the modifier it always was
  • Works before you open it: both Command keys send Escape out of the box
  • A rule for each of ⌃ ⌥ ⇧ ⌘, with the left and right side of each treated as a separate key
  • Record any key or combination as the output, not just Escape
  • The panel shows only the rules you have set. The cog reveals the rest, and holding ⌥ while opening
it shows everything for that one look
  • Hold any modifier and its row lights up — which is how you find a key that System Settings has
remapped, since a remapped key reports as the right-hand side wherever it physically sits
  • Adjustable hold threshold: how long a press may last and still count as a tap
  • Per-app exclusions, for terminals, virtual machines and remote desktops
  • No Dock icon and one menu bar item, which you can turn off too. Launching Momentary while it is
already running opens its settings either way
  • The menu bar mark dims while Momentary is off, or while another app holds secure input and no key
    press can reach it
  • Needs Accessibility permission, and asks for nothing else
