deno desktop - how to enable noActivate and frameless for initial window

How to enables noActivate and frameless values for initial window?

As these fields can be set only during creation and the first new Deno.BrowserWindow() bring the instance of initial window, setting these values in the first construct isn't working.

Any insights on this?

For the initial window, I don't think this is currently configurable. Current desktop source creates the bootstrap window before JS with frameless: false and no_activate: false; the first new Deno.BrowserWindow(...) then wraps that existing window instead of creating a new one.

Because frameless and noActivate are creation-time options, they only apply to windows created after that initial window has been consumed. The practical workaround is to create a second window with { frameless: true, noActivate: true } and hide/close the bootstrap window, or open an issue for a desktop config option that controls the bootstrap window itself.

I did try using close and hide on the initial window. I was testing in macOS and calling

• close on initial window quits the application
• hide hide keeps window in background and shows up in app switcher
