PS5 Library 0.7.8
Changes
- Covers on older firmware (#6). The PS5 browser on older firmware (for example 5.10) showed every cover as a black square: it doesn't support a CSS property the covers used, so the images ended up outside their tiles. Covers and placeholders now use positioning every browser supports.
- Updating replaces the running version. Before, loading the ELF while PS5 Library was running only showed "already running" and exited, so the old version kept running. Now a different version stops the running one and takes over its port, with a notification. Catalogs, settings, accounts and downloads are kept; a download in progress pauses and continues with Resume. The same version still exits, so autoload plus a manual load doesn't interrupt anything.
- Reset. Delete
/data/ps5-libraryand load the ELF again: the running library stops and starts fresh. An update never resets anything. - If the running version is installing a package, it keeps running and the new one exits with a notification.
Validation
Native build and host integration checks passed, including a running older version, a refused stop during an installation, and a reset. Tested on PS5 firmware 13.60: loading 0.7.8 while 0.7.7 ran replaced it and kept all catalogs, settings and jobs; loading it again kept the running instance. The black covers were reproduced and fixed in a browser without that CSS property; not tested on firmware 5.10 hardware.
Load the new ELF; it replaces the running version.
