Reliability of https://nvd.nist.gov/ API

I have been using this tool for a long time, but in the past few weeks have found the reliability and performance of the NVD API increasingly unreliable.

Historically a full download of the NVD H2 databased tool around 10 minutes, not it can be anywhere between 30 minutes and more commonly up to 3 hours. During this time I will see plenty of timeouts and retries.

I have tied recreating API key, all to no effect.

Has anyone else seem similar issue with the API, if you have do you have any suggestions to address them?
