v1.1.3 — Self-Update, Cache Visibility, and Release Plumbing

reserve v1.1.3 is an infrastructure-focused release centered on update plumbing and local cache operability.

Highlights

  • Added reserve update apply for Phase 1 self-updates on macOS and Linux
  • Added reserve update apply --dry-run for end-to-end validation of the live update path without replacing the installed binary
  • Added reserve update apply --force to exercise the update path even when the current version already matches the latest manifest version
  • Windows update flow now resolves and prints the exact release asset URL for manual download instead of attempting in-place self-update
  • Added reserve cache path to print the active local database path
  • reserve cache stats now reports schema version and on-disk database size alongside per-bucket row and byte counts

Notes

  • This release strengthens the install/update story without changing the macroeconomic command model.
  • reserve update check remains the lightweight advisory check, while reserve update apply is the new in-place updater path for Unix-like installs.
  • For live-path testing without mutating the installed binary, use:
reserve update apply --dry-run --force

Verification

Distributed release binaries remain covered by the existing release integrity flow:
