Summary

  • Replaces MIT license with Elastic License 2.0 (ELv2)
  • Updates pyproject.toml license field
  • Adds badges to README (CI, PyPI, Python versions, license)

What ELv2 means

  • Free to use, modify, and distribute
  • Cannot offer the software as a hosted/managed service
  • Prior releases (<=1.1.0) remain under MIT

Test plan

  • CI passes
  • LICENSE file renders correctly on GitHub
  • Badge shows correct license text

Permits free use, modification, and distribution but prohibits offering
the software as a hosted/managed service. Prior releases (<=1.1.0)
remain MIT-licensed.
