Setup

Ryudeck is designed to run natively on the Steam Deck within Game Mode via Gamescope. This page outlines how to install, configure, and launch the emulator.

Installation & Launch

Ryudeck is distributed as a non-Steam game. To run it:

1. Add as Non-Steam Game: Add the Ryudeck executable to your Steam library.
2. Wrapper Script: The bundled Ryudeck.sh wrapper automatically sets the necessary environment variables for Vulkan/RADV and Gamescope compatibility (specifically AMD_VULKAN_ICD=RADV and GDK_BACKEND=x11). Ensure you launch via this script.

First Run Order

To ensure a smooth initial experience, follow this sequence:

1. Install Keys & Firmware: You must provide your own Switch keys and firmware. See Keys & Firmware for details.
2. Add Games: Add your Switch game ROMs to the library.
3. Launch: Start a game.

Configuration & Logs

• Config Directory: ~/.config/Ryudeck/
• Logs Directory: ~/.config/Ryudeck/Logs/

Navigation

Ryudeck is fully controller-navigable:

• Launcher: Use the Steam Deck controls to navigate the main menu.
• In-Game: Press L3 + R3 to open the Quick-Access blade for live settings adjustments.
