This is an early pre-release build (v1.0.0-beta.1) intended for testing, community feedback, and real-world daily use validation. Features listed below are fully implemented and functional on-device.

🎙️ 1. Ultra-Low Friction Universal Capture

  • Press-and-Hold Voice Capture: Hold down the mic button, speak your mind with real-time waveform feedback, and release to save.
  • Original Audio Preservation: Raw .m4a audio files are preserved in private app storage so you never lose the tone and nuance of your thoughts.
  • Offline On-Device Speech Recognition: Transcribes spoken thoughts locally via Android's native SpeechRecognizer without requiring internet connectivity.
  • Quick Text Composer: Full-screen, distraction-free modal when you prefer typing.

  • Intuitive Swipe Gestures:
    • 🟢 Swipe Right → Complete task
    • 🔴 Swipe Left → Move to Trash
  • Priority Highlighting & Pinning: Keep important tasks pinned to the top or visually highlighted.

  • 15+ Category Tags: Tag and organize thoughts (Ideas, Health, Finance, Study, Work, Travel, Media, and more).
  • Instant Search: Real-time fuzzy title & content search as you type.
  • Memory Merging: Merge related memories into one cohesive note.
  • Pin & Highlight: Keep crucial reference notes easily accessible.

🤖 4. Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite AI Intelligence (Optional)

  • Smart Classification: Intelligently routes brain dumps into either an actionable Task or a structured Memory.
  • Explicit Destination Wins: "Add this to my project notes" routes directly to your target memory.
  • Non-Destructive Guardrails: AI operates strictly on a structured schema. It cannot delete data, invent facts or deadlines, or modify the database directly.
  • Triage & Review Queue: Ambiguous captures are marked with a gentle yellow ! badge for easy 1-tap review and conversion.

  • Home Screen Task List: View, check off, and complete tasks directly from your launcher.
  • Instant Capture Shortcuts: Launch straight into voice recording or text capture with a single tap.

🗑️ 6. Trash & Safe Recovery System

  • Soft Deletion: Tasks, Memories, and Voice Captures are moved to Trash rather than permanently erased.
  • 1-Tap Restore: Restore accidentally deleted items with full fidelity, or permanently empty trash when ready.

🔒 7. Local-First Privacy & Hardware Encryption

  • 100% Local SQLite / Room Database: Your data and recordings stay on your physical device.
  • Hardware-Encrypted Secrets: Your Gemini API key is encrypted using the Android Keystore in EncryptedSharedPreferences.
  • Zero Telemetry: No third-party trackers, no ads, and no user accounts required.
  • Voluntary Creator Support: Direct UPI support dialog with an offline dynamically generated QR code (ZXing).

🚫 What is NOT in this Pre-Release (Future Roadmap)

To maintain stability and a tight focus during beta testing, the following are intentionally deferred:

  • ❌ Live two-way cloud database sync
  • ❌ Google Drive automated cloud backup & restore (coming in a future update)
  • ❌ Conversational AI chatbots or intrusive background notifications

Internet Access Optional (Only needed if Gemini AI processing is enabled)
Gemini API Key Optional (Free tier available at Google AI Studio)

📥 How to Install & Test the Pre-Release APK

  1. Download ADHDmate-v1.0.0-beta.1.apk from the release assets.
  2. Open the downloaded file on your Android phone.
  3. If prompted with "Install unknown apps", toggle permission for your browser or file manager.
  4. Tap Install and launch ADHDmate.
  5. (Optional) Go to Settings → Gemini AI Configuration and paste your API key to test AI classification.
