One photograph, everyone who was there adds their side, and a story that never claims more than the people in it did.
This replaces 1.0.1. It is the first build with its own versionCode, so from here on each release keeps its own tag and its own download URL instead of being swapped in place.
Install
- Download
ourtales-1.0.2-android.apkbelow. - Open it. Android will warn that it came from outside the Play Store — that warning is about the source, not the file. Allow the installer to continue.
- Open OurTales, make a username, and start with one real photo.
Already running 1.0.1? Install straight over it. Same signing key, higher
versionCode, nothing to uninstall and nothing lost.
Android 7.0 or newer. iPhone is not ready yet; join the waitlist at

Version 1.0.2 (versionCode 2)
Package xyz.ourtales.app
Signed with APK Signature Scheme v2/v3, same certificate as every earlier
build. It carries all four Android ABIs, which is most of the size — a
per-architecture build will be much smaller once the beta settles.
What works
- Start a memory from one photo, with your own account of it
- Invite by QR code or link — everyone taking part installs the app and signs up with
a username and a password (no email, no phone number, no real name) - Voice, photo and text contributions, weighted equally
- Per-contribution certainty: certain / I think / not sure
- Composed story that keeps disagreements side by side and never rewrites anyone
- Circles: family, friends, team, community
Known gaps in this build
-
Everyone you invite needs the app and an account. The account-free browser
route is built on the server but is not switched on in this build. Earlier notes
and the landing page said otherwise; that was wrong, and both are corrected. -
No password reset. Sign-up asks for no email, so there is nowhere to send one.
-
Invite links cannot be revoked once sent.
-
Push notifications need this build (not Expo Go) and permission granted on first run.
-
Image analysis is off, so the story says the photo was not analysed rather than guessing at it.
