I used KoalaEssays for my admission essay and I'm glad I did #9

Admission essays are a different kind of stressful than regular assignments. It's not that the writing is harder, it's that it's personal and the stakes feel completely different. I'd been working on mine for three weeks and somehow it kept getting worse the more I edited it.

A friend mentioned KoalaEssays. I was hesitant because admission essays feel like something you should do yourself. But I was also out of perspective on my own writing and running out of time.

I didn't ask them to write it for me. I asked them to help me structure what I already had and clarify the argument I was trying to make. The back and forth before they started was more like a conversation than an intake form. They asked what I wanted the reader to understand about me, what the essay was actually trying to say underneath all the editing I'd done to it.

What came back was recognisably mine but clearer. The structure made sense in a way it hadn't before. I got in. I don't know how much the essay contributed to that but I know I submitted something I was actually confident in, which hadn't been the case three weeks earlier.
