Most of my tweaking is in the "Curvy" profile, and I find the existing levels quite satisfactory. Routes will of course vary by the settings and what roads you have around you - there are instances where you are taken off a road for a short distance only to turn back onto it 500yrds later. In real-life, that's quite a unusual thing just to satisfy an algorithm. I guess what's happening is the routine senses that it's 2% short of "balance" and simply makes a couple of turns to make the whole lot add up to 100. To that end, I would say that those kind of "errors" should be handled (I guess within the BRouter code) a bit better. I know that routers aren't perfect, and that 2 roads of the same type could fall at opposite ends of the "fun" scale: 1 could be 25 miles of twists and scenery whilst the 2nd could be a 10 miles in a straight line. I know which I'd prefer to ride! |

I'm undecided as to whether I think it makes sense to extend the avoidance settings options from 5 to 10 steps. Perhaps we should test it in a beta version to determine whether it's too much or if it really makes sense? |

Ich hab das mit den Routing-Vermeidungsstufen mal schnell ausprobiert. Für die "schnellen Routen" hab ich mal folgendes eingestellt: Für die "schnellen+kurvigen Routen" hab ich mal folgendes eingestellt:("kurz" umbenannt in Schnell+kurvig) Für die "kurvigen Routen" hab ich mal folgendes eingestellt: Für die "extra Kurvigen Routen": Nur mal so als GROBE Orientierung. Ich bin jetzt wieder Zuhause...(warum eigentlich?)
Wie gesagt: innerhalb von Ortschaften sind fälschlicherweise oftmals "Ortsstassen" als "Nebenstrassen" deklariert. Das kann zu blödsinnigen Ortsdurchfahrten führen. |

my two cents ... It gives me enough variety for my different motorcycle tours – here's an example: In the car, only “Fastest” is relevant; cycling and hiking are a different matter anyway. I use "Extra curvy" as "Enduro" to get some gravel under my tyres and would like to specify more preference for unpaved roads. |

Die ganze Strassenklassifizierung hängt auch noch von der Gegend und dem Land ab. In Frankreich oder Spanien sollte man unklassifizierte Strassen nicht unbedingt mit 0% Vermeiden. Es sei denn man fährt gerne Feldwege etc. |

What improvements can be made to the routing avoidance strength levels?
For example, allow more levels in the avoidance sliders, like 10 ?
And you can suggest better values for the avoidance strength of each level.
