v.1.0
Release v.1.0
We are thrilled to announce the v1.0.0 stable release of Glimpse Launcher! 🎉
After months of development, optimizations, and UI refinements, Glimpse has reached its first major milestone. Built entirely in Rust, this release delivers an ultra-fast, minimalist, and highly customizable desktop launcher designed specifically for Windows 11. Whether you are launching apps, calculating math expressions on the fly, or executing terminal commands, Glimpse does it in under 50ms without draining your system resources.
Highlights of v1.0
• Ultra-fast Fuzzy Search: Powered by nucleo-matcher for instant, typo-tolerant search across UWP apps, Win32 programs, and local files.
• Beautiful Fluent UI: Native-feeling Windows 11 design with frosted glass backgrounds, smooth animations, and customizable accent colors (including the popular Nord themes).
• Built-in Productivity Tools:
• Inline Calculator: Solve math expressions directly in the search bar (e.g., 25 * 4 / 2).
• Web Search: Type g to instantly search Google.
• Terminal Integration: Type > to run prompt commands without opening a terminal window.
• Advanced Settings Panel: Completely redesigned interactive 3x3 visual grid for window positioning, custom global hotkeys (default Alt + S), and theme toggles (Light/Dark).
• Smart Caching & Indexing: Real-time file system watching and binary serialized cache for instantaneous startup times.
• Featherweight: Minimal memory footprint using the mimalloc custom allocator.
