Version 1.7.3
Reliable updates and bug fixes
Fixed
- Updates reported "failed" and could leave Error-Vault deactivated. The updater compared the install folder without the trailing slash WordPress uses, so each update installed the new files, then reported an error. When the update was started from wp-admin, the plugin was then left inactive. Fixed, and tested across every update route.
- "Call to a member function get_queried_object() on null" fatal error. When another plugin or theme crashed early in the page load, Error-Vault's error reporter crashed too and hid the real error. The reporter can no longer fail this way, and the original error is now reported properly.
- Security scan flagged
wp-includes/version.phpas modified on sites whose language differs from their WordPress download's language (for example an en_ZA download with the site set to English). Core files are now checked against the installed package's language, like WordPress itself does. - Uncaught exceptions are now logged to the PHP error log and return HTTP 500, instead of a blank page.
Heads-up
The download is now called error-vault-wordpress.zip. It still installs to the same errorvault-wordpress folder, so uploading it replaces your existing copy.
Installation
Update via the WordPress admin "Plugins → Updates" screen, or download error-vault-wordpress.zip below and upload it via Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin ("Replace current with uploaded").
