Get error 'ThisAssembly' is inaccessible due to its protection level

I get this compiler error using GitInfo, when refering ThisAssembly in my AssemblyInfo.cs file. (Just like in the readme).

GitInfo version: 3.5.0
Project: WPF/.NET Framework 4.8

It works as expected when I downgrade to GitInfo 2.3.0.

Is this expected? Isn't .NET Framework 4.8 supported? Is there a workaround?

This is a non-repro project with that same setup. Project is WPF NET48.

My guess is you're using the legacy csproj format. If that is the case, there's no plan to support it in newer GitInfo. It's for all purposes legacy stuff that can be fairly trivially ported to SDK-style projects. See https://github.com/dotnet/upgrade-assistant
