Codex Switchboard v0.1.0

A small unofficial macOS utility for launching Codex App with local Ollama models.

I made this for my own local workflow and am sharing it in case it is useful to others. Fork it, adapt it, or ignore it entirely as you see fit.

What it does

• Detects whether Ollama is installed and reachable.
• Lists installed local Ollama models.
• Lets you select one installed model.
• Shows the exact ollama launch codex-app command before running it.
• Launches Codex App through Ollama with the selected model.
• Restores normal Codex behavior.
• Opens Codex App.
• Keeps a small local action log.

Important notes

• This is unofficial and not affiliated with OpenAI, Codex, or Ollama.
• v0.1 is macOS-focused and built for Apple Silicon.
• The app is unsigned and not notarized, so macOS may warn when opening it.
• Requires Ollama 0.24.0 or newer.
• It does not host, download, or install models.
• It does not edit Codex internals, conversations, databases, threads, repositories, or user files.
• When Ollama mode is active, Codex may show a different chat/thread view. Use Restore Normal Codex to return to the usual profile.
