Faster map loads and rivers that start full
The remastered maps load much faster with their grass and scenery built in, and their rivers are full the moment you spawn.
Changed
- Faster loads on the remastered maps (MJOLNIRLevelLoader 0.7.6).
The grass, ground cover, cliff rocks and swapped trees and boulders are
now part of each map's world. The level script only sets them up for
your graphics settings, where before it placed every piece while the map
loaded. On Death Island the longest frame while loading fell from 15.5
to under a second. Grass still thins out at lower foliage quality, and a
map without its built-in foliage gets it placed the old way. - Haze comes on sooner. The haze on Blood Gulch, Death Island and
Yoyorast now appears about half a second after the load instead of
three. mjolnir_benchcovers the built-in foliage (MJOLNIRHud 0.11.2), so
its grass and wind timings still mean the same thing on the new maps.
Fixed
- Rivers start full. Battle Creek's and Timberland's rivers used to
load dry, or show a wall of water, and take up to a minute to fill.
They now start from a saved, settled state, full and calm the moment
you spawn. On a map without a saved state, the old CE water stays until
the river has filled, so the riverbed is never bare. - Trees hold together. The swapped trees' branches and small leaf
clusters no longer drift apart from their trunks in the wind. - Scenery faces the right way. Some rocks and props the level script
places stood at the wrong angle.
The signed set of UE4SS script mods. Every artifact's hash is in
manifest.json, and manifest.json.sig is its Ed25519 signature
over the manifest — verify with keys/mod-signing.pub from this
repository. The launcher does this automatically and installs
nothing that fails verification.
Script mods ship only from this repository's reviewed pull
requests — see docs/contributing_code_mods.md to contribute one.
