erdify 0.11.0

Generate ERDs straight from SQL — no database required.

Added

  • SQL DDL frontend via the optional erdify[sql] extra (powered by sqlglot): point erdify at .sql files and get an ERD, with no database connection. 
    pip install erdify[sql]
erdify schema.sql --format mermaid
erdify ./db --include '*.sql' --sql-dialect postgres -o erd.puml
    Parses CREATE TABLE (columns, types, NOT NULL/DEFAULT, primary keys incl. composite), foreign keys (inline REFERENCES, table-level, and ALTER TABLE ... ADD CONSTRAINT, composite-aware), many-to-many link tables, CREATE TYPE ... AS ENUM (Postgres), and CREATE INDEX (JSON output only). Unmodeled statements are skipped, so dumps parse cleanly.
    • New --sql-dialect flag / sql_dialect in [tool.erdify].
    • input now accepts a file as well as a directory.

Compatibility

Additive and opt-in. The core install stays zero-dependency — sqlglot is pulled in only by erdify[sql] and imported lazily. No change for existing users.
