  • /reading is rebuilt from the shared collage pieces. The title is CutLetters with collagePageTitle in the synchronous page shell, outside Suspense, so it morphs to and from other pages the same way /music does.
  • The hero keeps the old page's composition. A viridian card holds a cream-matted, tilted cover with a vermilion bookmark ribbon running behind it. Next to the cover sit the title, author, stars, date, and the review on a cream slip with a vermilion accent. Two tags are pinned to its top edge: a cream "Latest review" (or "Currently reading") tag and a cobalt "23 books · 5 five-star picks" tag. Leaf and star cut-outs sit behind it.
  • Books are shelved by year under tilted year tags, with three kinds of card picked in readingHelpers.ts:
    • Five-star books with a review get a full-width card with a big cover, alternating sides.
    • Other reviewed books get half-width cards with the full review on a cream slip and a tilted stamp holding the stars and date.
    • Books without a review get small, more tilted cover prints.
    • Five-star books carry a vermilion scalloped seal.
  • Text containers stay calm and readable:
    • Every review slip, in the hero and on the shelf, is clean cream paper with dark ink, softly rounded corners (quad-c), a vermilion left accent, and a tilt under 1 degree. No torn or zig-zag edges go around paragraphs.
    • Book cards use only rounded edges.
    • Yellow (ochre) is no longer used behind text. It's out of the shared card rotation, and the hero tag, year tags, stamps, and seal use cream or vermilion. Ochre remains only as the hero's star glyphs and the ribbon's dashed stitch.
  • Dark mode reads correctly now. Every surface is a PaperCard or PaperTag, so text takes the paper's own --on ink. That means dark text on cream slips and light paper, and cream text on viridian, cobalt, and leaf. The old page hard-coded var(--ink), which turns light in dark mode and left review text cream on cream.
  • Gone: the "Ex libris" and "On the nightstand" stamps, the fake 68% read progress bar, page counts, inferred genre stickers, masking tape, and the "library checkout card" and "dog-eared" copy.
  • Filters live in one registry in readingHelpers.ts. A pill appears only when its filter narrows the shelf. With today's data that means All, 5 stars, and Notes. Each pill shows its count. Picking one runs inside startTransition, and every card and year tag sits in its own <ViewTransition>, so cards slide to their new spots. A card's paper and side come from its position in the unfiltered shelf, so it keeps its look as it moves.
  • New collage/PaperPills.tsx and collage/pills.css hold the sort and filter pill group. /music/albums sort pills and their loading placeholder now use it, and the duplicate .music__sort* CSS is deleted. The active pill takes paperButtonCurrent, matching the header's current-page button. That means black in light mode and ochre in dark mode, which also fixes the album pill that nearly vanished in dark mode.
  • collageAlbumCardTreatment moves to collage/collageCardTreatment.ts as collageCardTreatment, shared by album and book grids. Its tone rotation drops ochre, from 8 tones to 7. Album grid cards change color too, since they also carry text. The hero's cut-outs are a new readingHero entry in CUT_OUT_PLACEMENTS.
  • reading.css goes from 930 lines to 347. It uses only --display and the existing --type-* tokens. The fonts the old page referenced (--font-fraunces, --font-Alegreya, --font-jb-mono) were never loaded.
