First release of @dgesteves/design-system-mcp, an MCP server that gives coding agents ground truth about your React design system, and a linter they can run on their own UI.

Tools: list_components, get_component, search_components, get_tokens and check_ui. All are read-only, take zod-validated input and return Markdown for the model plus structuredContent for programs. Also ships the ds://components/{name} and ds://tokens resources and a build-with-design-system prompt.

Extraction: works with zero config on shadcn/ui-style projects. Reads components, props (types, defaults, JSDoc), cva variants, DTCG or CSS tokens with dark-mode values, and Markdown/MDX docs. Uses an on-disk cache and reloads when files change.

check_ui rules: no-hardcoded-color, no-hardcoded-spacing, no-hardcoded-radius, prefer-design-system-component, no-unknown-component, no-unknown-prop, no-unknown-variant and icon-button-accessible-name. Every finding has a rule id, a range and a concrete fix.

CLI: serve, inspect and check, with pretty, json and github output for CI.

Requires Node.js 22.18 or later.
