How to get notified by email?

Hi, I just installed changedetection.io in a Docker container on my Synology NAS. For test-purposes I tried to check https://www.uhrzeit.org/atomuhr

I configured a notification email address and when clicking „send test notification“ I am receiving an email:

The system seems to check the website as expected, but I do not get any notifications:

Why am I not receiving any emails after that automated check? Is there anything else I need to configure?
I am using version 0.60.7

Best is to show the logs (remove the password!) where its shows sending the email, just after the change detection

Test email working only proves SMTP is fine. Automatic emails are a different path.

On Synology/Portainer you usually won't find a "Logs" item in the changedetection UI. The check/notification worker logs are the container logs.

In Portainer: the container → Logs. Or on the NAS:

docker logs changedetection.io

(If the container has another name, use that name.)

What you pasted is only the HTTP stats thread (stats_thread_func). That is normal idle output. It does not show whether a watch ran or whether Apprise tried to send mail. After a real check you should see lines about fetching the URL and then sending a notification (or an Apprise error). Also check Settings → Notifications → Notification debug logs.

Because the test button already mailed you, the usual remaining causes are:

1. The watch itself has no notification URL. Global / test SMTP can work while the individual watch still has an empty notification field. Open that watch → Notifications and put the same mailto://... (or whatever you used for the test) on that watch.
2. changedetection did not count it as a change. Your test target is a clock. If you added a filter / "ignore numbers" / CSS selector, the time can update on the page while the stored snapshot does not change — then no mail is sent. Trigger Check now and confirm the watch actually shows a new history/diff.
3. The worker log is elsewhere. Some compose stacks run a separate changedetection worker. In Portainer open the other related container's logs too, not only the web UI container.

If you can paste (password redacted) the log lines immediately after clicking Check now, we can see whether it fetched, detected a change, and attempted SMTP.
