Log Sync v0.30.1
Fixed
- Vehicles move smoothly while live. In 3D the flown vehicle stood still for most of each
second and then jumped; it now moves in every frame. The other vehicles — in 3D and on the
map — no longer travel in a stop-and-go rhythm, and with Follow on the map slides along with
the vehicle instead of catching up in steps. - Vehicles stand on the ground in 3D. A vehicle on the ground was drawn half sunk into it,
and deeper the further you zoomed out. With terrain on, vehicles parked away from home could
be buried under the surface altogether; they now sit on it, and the line under a flying
vehicle ends at the terrain. - Connecting to a vehicle that is already flying no longer puts the 3D ground at the height
it was at when you connected: heights are above home, as on the instruments. - The Commands card on the right goes to the selected vehicles. With several vehicles
connected its buttons only ever reached the one on the instruments. Now every command there —
RTL, modes, take off, land, arm, disarm, speed, altitude, waypoint, start — goes to the
selected vehicles, or to all of them when none is selected, exactly like the bar under the
map, and says who did it and who did not. A mode is lit only when all of them are in it. - After switching the instruments to another vehicle the selection is kept (it used to be
dropped, so the next command went to everyone), and the 3D path starts again with the new
vehicle instead of drawing a line between the two.
Changed
- Who the commands go to is always on show, in the Commands card and the bar, in the same
words: the selected vehicles in their colours ("For #2 #3"), or ALL 3 VEHICLES when
nothing is selected. The card also says which vehicle the instruments show. - Selecting one vehicle puts it on the instruments — a single click on the map, in 3D or in
the bar's list; no double-click needed. With several selected, or none, the instruments stay
on the last one. - A click on empty map or open sky no longer deselects, so "this one drone" cannot quietly
become "all of them". Let the selection go with the new Deselect — back to all button
(in the card and the bar), with Esc, or by clicking the selected vehicle again. - If a selected vehicle drops off the link and nobody is selected any more, a message says that
commands now go to everyone. - The in-flight motor kill names exactly which vehicles it will stop, locks again whenever the
selection changes, and asks a second time before stopping all of them.
Log Sync v0.30.0
Added — Swarm review
- Review → Swarm: several vehicles from one flight, reviewed as a group. Open each
vehicle's onboard log (.bin) and they are lined up on one clock by GPS time, then
replayed together on the map with a shared timeline. - The swarm as a whole: the closest any two came and for how long they were inside
your limit; whether they flew as a formation, a loose group or independent paths (how
much the gaps between them varied); how spread out they were; how far apart the
take-offs and landings were; who sets the group's endurance (most battery per minute)
and who sets how tight they can safely fly (largest position error). - Collision courses: any stretch where two vehicles, holding their speed and heading,
would have passed inside your limit within the next 8 seconds — even if they turned away
in time. These are the moments avoidance would have had to act. - Each vehicle against the rest: time in the air, position / height / attitude error,
vibration, battery per minute, satellites — with the worst in each column marked, and a
finding whenever one is well out of line with the others. Click a vehicle to open its own
debrief, charts and 3D. - How each was directed: a lane per vehicle on the timeline with its flight modes, when
it flew, and every command it was sent; its share of time in each mode; how long it took
to act on commands, and which commands it did not carry out. - Findings are ranked and each one jumps to its moment on the map and timeline.
- Live sessions record the whole swarm. With several vehicles connected, every
vehicle's track and every command sent from the command bar are saved with the session —
so Swarm review works straight after a flight ("Use this session's vehicles"), before
anyone has pulled an onboard log. Add the logs for vibration, tracking and battery.
Log Sync v0.29.0
Added — a swarm, one drone per port
- Connect to several ports at once. In Connect → Network, give the port a list —
5760, 5770, 5780, a range5760-5762, or5760+10x3(three ports, ten apart) — and
every simulator or drone on them joins one fleet. It does not matter if they all report
the same system id (most do, out of the box): each is told apart by its port, shown as
#1, #2, #3, and every command and mission goes to the right one.
Added — commands for one, some, or all
- A command bar on the map and the 3D view. It acts on whoever is selected: click a
vehicle to pick it, Ctrl or Shift-click to add more, and with none picked it commands the
whole swarm. The chip on its left shows who that is and opens the list of vehicles. - What it offers follows them: Take off (to a height, hold to confirm) and Arm on
the ground; Land, RTL and Hold in the air; Mode for any flight mode they
share. Each vehicle is checked and anyone who did not do it is named. - Mission ▸ sends any mission from the library to them and runs it — on the ground
they arm and take off first; in the air it replaces what they were flying and carries on
from its first item. Send uploads it without starting. - Waypoint ▸ sends them to any waypoint of the mission they are flying. On the map,
click a waypoint for the same thing. - Fly here (right-click the map) goes to the selected vehicles too; several are spread
in a line with a height step between them rather than sent to one spot. - Double-click a vehicle — on the map, in 3D, or "Fly it" in the list — to make it the one
the instruments and right-hand panels follow.
Added — a mission library
- Several missions, one open at a time. In Plan → Mission, each mission has a name and
folds away; click one to open it on the map, rename, duplicate or delete it. Your
existing mission became "Mission 1". - Run on a mission sends it to the selected vehicles (or all) and flies it; the dots
beside its name show which vehicles have it. - Go on a waypoint row flies the mission from there. If the mission was edited since it
was sent, the new version goes up first — so a mission can be changed while it is being
flown.
Added — drones in 3D
- Every vehicle on the link is drawn in 3D, each with a tag (number, mode, height) in
its colour, a line to the ground and a ring when selected. Click one to select it. - A multirotor looks like one. A drone — live, or a multirotor's recorded flight — is
drawn as a quad with turning props instead of the aeroplane (your own 3D model, if the
aircraft has one, still wins).
Changed
- Vehicles on the map are larger, clearer icons with a nose you can read, rotors that
turn while armed, a glow on the one being flown, and tags that show height. Each keeps
its own trail in its own colour. - Vehicles glide between position reports instead of jumping.
- Closing the "Get set up for the field" checklist on the Hangar now asks whether to hide
it until the next launch or for good.
Fixed
- Drones no longer spin on the spot. When a heading crossed north (359° → 1°) the icon
turned the long way round through south — and a drone hovering near north did it
constantly. Headings now always turn the short way, on the map and in 3D, live and in
replays.
Log Sync v0.28.1
Fixed
- Settings can be left again. Opening Settings made it the "last screen" of the mode
you were in, so Hangar / Live / Review and the gear all led straight back to it. Now they
return to where you were, and Settings has a Back button and closes with Esc. - Satellite imagery and terrain show in 3D while flying live. The 3D view rebuilds the
flight path about once a second during a live flight, and each rebuild threw away the
imagery that was still loading — so it never appeared. (Recorded flights were fine.) - No more wall of fog in 3D. The fog was tied to how far the camera was from the
aircraft, so with a close camera the ground a few hundred metres away vanished. It is now
a light haze sized to the whole scene.
Changed
- The ground in 3D carries on to the horizon: a wider ring of imagery and terrain around
the sharp patch under the flight, instead of ending at an edge.
Log Sync v0.28.0
Added — multirotors, and any vehicle
- Log Sync knows what it is connected to. A multirotor, a fixed wing, a rover or a sub
each get their own flight modes, buttons and wording. Until now every vehicle was treated
as a plane, so a drone showed the wrong mode and the mode buttons sent the wrong ones. - Take off (multirotors): set a height and hold — it switches to GUIDED, arms and climbs
straight up, checking each step and telling you why if one is refused. Land puts it
down where it is. Start begins a loaded mission. - RTL, the command palette's modes, and the crew "RTL only" permission all follow the
vehicle type. Recordings remember what flew them, so Review reads their modes right.
Added — swarms
- Several vehicles on one link are all tracked and drawn on the map, each in its own
colour with its number and mode. Pick the one to fly from the header ("#1 of 3") or by
clicking it on the map: the instruments, parameters, mission and commands follow it. - All up / All land / All RTL in the actions: every vehicle at once, each one checked,
with a count of who did and who did not.
Fixed
- With more than one vehicle on a link, the link no longer hopped to whichever one spoke
last (the display jumped between them and commands went to the wrong one).
Changed — waypoints say what they do
- Every kind of mission item has its own look: waypoints, spline points, takeoff, land,
landing start, the loiters, look-at points, and the commands that happen at a point (set
speed, wait, jump, servo) shown as small chips on it. Loiters draw their circle, legs
show the direction of flight, and the active waypoint pulses. - More item kinds, offered for the vehicle you are connected to: spline waypoints, VTOL
takeoff and land, loiter to altitude, wait, jump, look at, landing start, turn to heading,
set servo. Commands the editor has no form for are kept exactly as read, not dropped. - Mission, Fence and Rally are three proper lists. Drag rows to reorder, open a row to
edit it in place (type, height, values, exact coordinates), duplicate, delete, and
undo (Ctrl+Z). Delete removes the selected row; the arrow keys move the selection.
New points go in after the selected one. The route length and highest point are shown. - Fences have zones: keep-in and keep-out areas and circles, each with its own list of
corners that can be reordered, edited and removed. - All of it in 3D: the same badges on stems at their height, loiter rings, fences as
walls, rally flags. Plan mode now works in the 3D view too, with or without a flight. - Opening Plan frames the whole plan; a new map button does the same.
Log Sync v0.27.3
Changed — everything is a flight
- Sessions and projects are one list: Flights. Each flight day shows every armed flight
with its time, length and debrief verdict; Review opens just that flight — the day's
log, videos and markers, the timeline narrowed to it ("Whole day" for all of it). A video
edit made from a day's log sits under that day; one made from a log you opened yourself is
a flight of its own. Search covers flights, logs and video edits. - Easier to get back into a flight: a Last flight button at the top of the Hangar,
Flights right under the fleet, and each aircraft's page is now Overview and Flights. - Fleet cards count armed flights and flight days.
Fixed
- The Hangar scrolls again.
Log Sync v0.27.2
Changed — updating
- An updating screen that stays up for the whole update. Installing an update used to
close Log Sync and show nothing until the new version opened. Now an animated "Updating
Log Sync" card — the app icon in turning rings, a glow, a light running along a bar,
what's happening right now — appears where the window was, stays on screen while the
update installs, and fades away the moment the new version's window opens. This update
already shows it.
Log Sync v0.27.1
Fixed
- The 3D aircraft card no longer slows the app down. A closed 3D view kept drawing in
the background, so every aircraft page you opened added another; each view also drew every
frame twice. Views now stop the moment they close and give their graphics memory back. - The mouse wheel over the 3D card scrolls the page again (it used to zoom the model).
- Opening an aircraft no longer stutters while its picture for the card and splash is made.
Log Sync v0.27.0
Added — your aircraft in 3D
- A 3D card on every aircraft's page: the aircraft in a close hero shot that glides
slowly between two angles, lit like late afternoon with a rim of its own colour, on a soft
shadow. Drag to look around, double-click to go back. It runs its controls every few
seconds like a preflight check, and shows flights, last flown and tuning progress. - Upload your own model (3D model → Upload a model): glTF Binary (.glb), including
Draco- and Meshopt-compressed files, from Blender, Sketchfab or CAD. It is sized and
stood on the floor automatically; Turn 90°, Stand it up and Upside down fix the
orientation. Parts named prop, aileron, elevator or rudder move. - A new built-in aircraft: a high-wing gas trainer drawn from curves — airfoil wing and
tail, a shaped fuselage, cabin glass, wheel pants, a real prop — in each aircraft's colour.
Or try the sample Cessna 172 ("Cessna172" by KOG_THORNS, CC BY 4.0). - Everywhere the aircraft appears: fleet cards and the opening splash show it in 3D until
you add a photo; the cockpit's 3D attitude widget and the 3D flight view fly your own model. - Models sync with your Mantaglow account like logs do.
Added — sync with your Mantaglow account
- Sign in with Mantaglow (Settings → Account & sync, or the chip in the Hangar): the
browser opens, you sign in, Log Sync picks it up. The sign-in is kept encrypted by
Windows and never leaves the app's background process. - Per organization: sync works for Mantaglow organizations that have Log Sync enabled,
and then for everyone in them. - Your fleet on every computer, shared with your team: aircraft (photo, notes, tuning
checklist), flight records, preflight checklists and runs, parameter groups, the
performance model and flight-day sessions sync to everyone in your Mantaglow
organization — on start, every few minutes and with Sync now. - Logs go with their sessions: onboard logs and telemetry upload once (by content, so
nothing is sent twice); videos too if you turn on Include videos. Sessions recorded on
another computer show under "In the cloud" — Download brings the whole folder here,
checked byte for byte. - Nothing is lost when two people edit: a change made only elsewhere comes through,
a change made only here goes up, and when both changed the same thing lists are
combined and your own value is kept. - While connected to the aircraft only small changes sync; logs wait until you disconnect.
- Video projects stay on the computer they were made on.
Changed — aircraft first
- The Hangar is your fleet: a card per aircraft — your photo (or a cover in its own
colour), last flown, flights, sessions and tuning progress — plus Add an aircraft and an
Unassigned pile for anything with no aircraft - Opening an aircraft plays a short splash with its cover and name, then its home: Go
live, Preflight and Parameters for it, and its Overview (tuning, trends, flights),
Sessions and Video projects. Name, one-line description and photo are editable there - Projects remember their aircraft — matched by the flight controller that wrote the log
(else the aircraft you had selected); older projects show under Unassigned
Changed — one window, opening on the Hangar
- Log Sync opens straight onto the Hangar, which is now home: projects (search, import,
rename, duplicate, delete), sessions, aircraft, Go live / Open a log / New project, updates
and the license. The separate project window is gone; the Hangar is one click (or 0) away
from anywhere, with Now open to jump back into what you were doing. Opening something
expands into its workspace - The header is the title bar: drag the window by it; Windows' minimize / maximize /
close sit at its right end in the app's colours (and follow sunlight mode and UI size) - Updates:
- A new update card: the version you're going to, its highlights, size, speed and time
left, and one button - Faster: the update installs silently and Log Sync reopens by itself in a few seconds
(no installer window), behind a full-window "Updating to …" screen - What's new after an update: everything that changed since this computer last ran
Log Sync, from the notes bundled with the app (works offline) - Update details are logged to
updater.login the app's data folder
- A new update card: the version you're going to, its highlights, size, speed and time
- Installer: a branded splash on a fresh install, the logo in the progress window, and
Log Sync starts when it's done
Log Sync v0.26.0
Added
- Layout outputs (quad and others): each box can have its own overlay, plus one
overlay across the whole picture - Data bar on any output: a strip of live numbers along the bottom or top — mode,
altitude, speeds, RPM, battery or any log field, and the latest autopilot message. The
picture is squeezed to make room, never covered - Parameter collections (Bench → Parameters): star parameters, make groups, put groups in
folders (nest with "/"), reorder them, add every search result to a group at once - Pin a group to Fly or Preflight for quick editing there — same confirmed write
(fresh read, write, readback) as everywhere else, read-only when the link is down - Overlay editor zoom: zoom in and out (buttons or Ctrl + wheel, around the pointer),
Fit, and grow / shrink every widget at once - Vibration & notch (Results): spectra of the high-rate IMU batches, a spectrogram with
the engine's RPM harmonics drawn over it, the VIBE level and clipping — and harmonic notch
settings (INS_HNTCH_*) worked out from whether the vibration follows the RPM sensor
(½× for a four-stroke single, 1× for a two-stroke, the harmonics that carry energy).
Proposals only, set on the ground; tells you how to turn batch logging on if a log has none - Engine card on Fly: RPM against throttle over this engine's own learned map, the last
90 s, CHT / EGT / fuel when an EFI reports them, the ignition pack. Copilot now also warns
when the engine runs above its usual RPM (can mean lean) or hunts at a steady throttle - Instant replay: every live camera keeps its last minute (GPU-encoded, in memory). Replay
5–60 s at 1×, ½× or ¼× into the Replay source — or let it take over an output and hand it
back when it ends. Quad cameras replay from their parent. R replays the last 10 s - 3D terrain and buildings: the satellite image is draped over real elevation (free
terrain tiles, ~10 m in the US) with the takeoff spot at ground level, and OpenStreetMap
buildings stand at their recorded height. Both are cached for the field like the map,
and "download this area" on the Fly map now saves the terrain too - Send files to the host: crew members (phone or laptop) send videos or logs from their
device into the session folder, with progress; they show up in Review - Sunlight mode: true black, white text, brighter colours, heavier type — the sun button
in the header or Settings → Display, which also has a larger UI size for gloves and touch - Laptop watch: warnings (spoken while connected) for a low battery, the charger coming
out mid-session, and disk space — with minutes of recording left at the current rate - Command palette (Ctrl+K): go anywhere, run anything; RTL needs Enter held, and
"set TRIM_THROTTLE 45" becomes a proposal in Parameters, never a direct write - Glance (G on Fly): mode, altitude, speeds, distance home, engine and battery in huge type
- Arrange the Fly cockpit: order and hide cards per aircraft; the flight phase still
picks which apply - Get set up checklist on the Hangar for a new install; it ticks itself off
Changed
- Recordings survive a crash: cameras record on the GPU into fragmented MP4 with a key
frame every second, written to disk as they go; the sync information is saved when
recording starts; a recording cut short is finished automatically at the next launch
(in testing, a recording killed mid-way came back with all but its last second) - Header: only what the current mode needs, one status pill (link, recording, crew,
battery, disk), Sources · Outputs · Crew as one drawer with tabs, search - New license signing key (no keys had been issued with the old one)
npm run test:sitl: an automated SITL flight test run before each release — connect,
parameters, confirmed write, mission and fence, modes, arm, AUTO, RPM, RTL, kill, log
download and parse- App shell split into smaller pieces (header, start-up, shortcuts, file actions)
Fixed
- Dropdowns near the bottom of a page opened off screen: every dropdown is now the app's own,
opens upward when there isn't room below, scrolls when long, and works from the keyboard - The parameter list crashed when a group or star named a parameter the aircraft doesn't have
- Closing an output's window no longer breaks that output: its preview, crew viewers,
recording and network stream went black or froze, because the window took the output's
canvas with it. The window now gets its own copy of each frame
