I am excited to announce the official v1.0.0 release of MemoryVoid, an ultra-fast, hardware-driven memory journal app for Android 11+!

🎙️ Hardware Volume Down Memory Capture

  • Hold 'Volume Down' for 0.5s: Instantly starts background voice recording.
  • Release 'Volume Down': Captures a full-resolution screenshot at release and automatically pairs it with the voice recording into a memory card.
  • Floating Memory Overlay: Displays a springy floating window preview upon capture for instant review.

🎨 Complete Theme & Appearance Overhaul

  • 4 Distinct Theme Modes:
    • ☀️ Light Theme: Clean #F2F4F7 background with dark #121316 primary text.
    • 🌙 Dark Theme: Deep #101216 surface background with light #F0F2F5 text.
    • 🖤 Pitch Black Theme: True #000000 AMOLED pitch black background with pure white text.
    • 🪟 Glass Theme: Translucent frosted glass over device wallpaper with 60dp hardware window blur on Android 12+.
  • Adaptive High-Contrast Category Badges:
    • High-contrast pill badges (itemTag and fsTag) that dynamically adjust per theme:

⚡ 120Hz Frame Pacing & Performance

  • Zero Frame Drops: All audio recording (MediaRecorder) and screenshot bitmap encoding are offloaded to background threads (Dispatchers.IO).
  • In-Memory Thumbnail LruCache: Caches up to 30 decoded image thumbnails in RAM to eliminate disk I/O lag while scrolling.
  • Tactile Micro-Haptics & Touch Pivots: Bouncy press scale animations now originate dynamically from the exact touch tap location with subtle KEYBOARD_TAP haptic feedback.

📱 Full-Screen Interactive Memory Viewer

  • iOS-Style Motion: Smooth iOS modal slide-up transitions (IosModalAnimation) and center spring zoom animations (IosZoomAnimation).
  • Floating Screenshot Card: Screenshots float in a dedicated Material 3 window card above the bottom controls dock.
  • In-App Editing: Rename notes, change category tags via flyout picker, listen to voice note audio, or open interactive pinch-to-zoom mode.

✏️ Direct In-App Note Creation

  • Write and save text notes directly inside the app using the + button on the top app bar.

📦 Installation Instructions

  1. Download app-debug.apk or app-release-unsigned.apk from the Assets section below.
  2. Install the APK on your Android device running Android 11 (API 30) or higher.
  3. Open MemoryVoid, follow the onboarding walkthrough, and grant the required Accessibility and Microphone permissions from Settings.
  4. Hold Volume Down anytime to take your first memory capture!

  • Fixed onDestroy() receiver leak warnings.
  • Fixed accessibility service unbinding during background recording.
  • Fixed soft keyboard clipping and IME window inset positioning.
  • Optimized R8 minification and resource shrinking in production builds.
