The game crashes when transferring a save to another game mode. #7932

The situation is this: I completed the game in Diablo mode... Now I wanted to transfer this character and the chest from the tavern to Hellfire mode. I transferred the character and the chest - the problem is that instead of two things in the chest there were red squares, when you click on one of them the game crashes... and the other item is a helmet with crazy characteristics.. |

We only support converting saves between Diablo and Hellfire. We do not support transferring the stash directly. You would have to transfer the items to a character's inventory and convert that character. |

I see, it's interesting how it happened. These two buggy things were in a chest.... I saved this chest save to show. I start Loading the game.... an empty chest is created, as it should be... and then if I replace the new chest with the buggy one, those buggy things will no longer be there.... It turns out they are somehow connected with the character saves? As soon as I returned the character save and that save with the buggy things, those buggy things appeared again. |

The stash is not connected to the hero but to the game mode. There is one for each game mode. Move the items you want to transfer to your hero and only rename the hero save game, if there is an issue in doing so then please post the save so we can investigate the issue. |

If you transfer all the things from the chest to the character, then there are no problems. Problems appear only when the chest is transferred to another game mode. After that, some things in the chest are displayed correctly, and some things become empty red squares when hovering over which the game crashes. If this transferred buggy chest is returned to the old game mode, then the incorrect display of items begins there too... It turns out that some things in the chest are simply transferred incorrectly... |

It's really not that complicated. The player can be converted between Diablo and Hellfire. The stash cannot be converted between Diablo and Hellfire. If you attempt to convert the stash between Diablo and Hellfire, your data will become corrupted. If you then try to convert it back, it is still corrupted. You would need to revert to a backup. This explains both why we told you not to change the file extension of your stash data file, but also why we told you to transfer your items to the player's inventory before converting the save. There isn't any more to it than that. |

Can we detect when the user has erroneously renamed the stash and throw an error message? It's not the first time someone gets confused about it. |

Maybe it's not worth doing? You can transfer money without any problems....only some things can't be transferred...I didn't have many things....three things in total...but I transferred one ring and money...Or at least leave the money for the transfer |
