What's new

  • The panel opens on press (mouse down) with either mouse button, matching native menu behavior

What's new

  • The display list now puts the screen you opened the panel on first, matching the native displays panel
  • New menu bar icon, no longer identical to the native Displays icon sitting next to it
  • Update notice restyled as a native menu row instead of a green banner
  • Fixed: the app now reports its real version, so the update notice disappears once you are on the latest release (previously it showed forever)

What's new

  • HiDPI switch no longer loses its knob when toggled from a panel on the external display
  • Brightness sun icons highlight on press and step continuously while held
  • External brightness sliders now use the accent color
  • Smoother panel expand/collapse animation (resize spring now driven by a vsync-aligned display link)

First public release of Crisp, a native macOS menu bar display manager: HiDPI on external monitors, DDC and software brightness, presets, arrangement, virtual displays, auto brightness, and screen effects.

Install: brew install --cask didriksg/tap/crisp, or download Crisp.dmg and drag Crisp to Applications. The app is unsigned; on first launch, right-click Crisp.app and choose Open to bypass Gatekeeper.

Universal binary (Apple Silicon + Intel). Requires macOS 15 (Sequoia) or later. Grant Accessibility permission if you want brightness keys routed to the display under the cursor.
