Windows

Diffusion Studio now ships for Windows (x64). The installer is Diffusion-Studio-x64-Setup.exe, signed with Azure Artifact Signing, and the app updates itself through the same feed as macOS.

  • Native window chrome: the dashboard and editor draw their own title bar on Windows, with the window controls aligned to the sidebar and the project search living in the title bar of the projects view. The title bar overlay follows the app's light/dark preference.
  • CLI on Windows: the app installs a diffusion command shim on first launch and rewrites it on every update, so the CLI keeps pointing at the current build. MCP registration writes the Windows form of the command for each agent.
  • Tools on Windows: fonts, screenshot (including from a minimized window), capture, and export all run on Windows. Temporary paths resolve through the long form of %TEMP%, and local application data lands in the right place for the agent chat.
  • Paths: basename handles both slash styles and trailing separators, so project names read correctly on either OS.

Changes

  • dapi is now diffusion: the CLI, the README, the tool reference, and every example use the new name. dapi remains as an alias, so existing scripts keep working.
  • OpenCode: the MCP setup view detects OpenCode and registers the server in its ~/.config/opencode/opencode.json.
  • whoami removed: the tool and CLI command are gone; the account is shown in the app instead.

Infrastructure

  • Release workflow: the Windows build joins the tag-triggered release, running after the macOS job so both append to one draft release. Signing goes through Azure Artifact Signing with OIDC sign-in, no stored certificate. A separate Build Windows workflow produces an unsigned installer on demand for testing.
  • Release script: npm run release <patch|minor|major|x.y.z> bumps every package version, refreshes the lockfile, commits, and tags in one step.
  • Dev linking: npm run link --workspace=@diffusionstudio/cli puts diffusion (and dapi) on your PATH on both macOS and Windows; unlink undoes it.
