dhoer - I would like to see some of the features in java_se make there way into java cookbook:

Allow for downloads directly from Oracle on all supported platforms
Can specify an alternative URI directory to download from
Make it lightweight, no cookbook dependencies
Add ability to skip Java installation

Java Cookbook 2.0

Remove java_ark in favor of ark?
JDK7 Default in 2.0
Drop JDK6. Users who want JDK6 for legacy reasons can pin to v1.
Re-evaluate remote_file instead of curl
Windows as first class citizen
