Highlights

  • Initial release of cleaned (🤞) English league tables covering 1888–2024, with dual-source Wikipedia scrapes for pre‑ and post‑Premier League formats.
  • Added resumable CLI tooling (wiki-league build/overview/combined, rsssf-scraper) plus utilities to merge, verify, and minify FootballData JSON.
  • CI now runs unit/lint checks on every push and twice-weekly Wikipedia integration tests; the release workflow rebuilds data and publishes the zip automatically.

Dataset summary

  • all-seasons.json / .min.json: merged Tier 1+ tables across the Football League and Premier League eras.
  • wiki_promotion_relegations_by_season*.json: raw promotion/relegation scraper output (best for 1888–1990).
  • wiki_overview_tables_by_season*.json: overview-table scrape, reliable from 1991 onward.

Run node scripts/verify-football-data.js --fail-on-issues ./data-output after generating new data to catch empty seasons, duplicate teams, or stat mismatches.
