SMon v2.0.2 - Fix High-Speed Bandwidth Detection
π§ Critical Bandwidth Monitoring Fixes
What Was Fixed:
- Interfaces with 100-500 Mbps were showing as 0.0000000 Mbps β FIXED
- 1Gbps interfaces not properly capturing traffic data β FIXED
- VLAN and Ethernet interfaces with high traffic incorrectly showing zeros β FIXED
Root Cause:
- 64-bit counter parsing issue: SNMP library returns BigInt/string types, not just numbers
- Overly aggressive rollover detection: Legitimate traffic drops were treated as resets
- Counter drop classification: Any drop was assumed to be a reset, not high-speed traffic
Technical Fixes:
- Enhanced type conversion: handles BigInt, string, and number values from SNMP
- Counter drop logic now treats drops as legitimate traffic unless value < 1MB
- Only true resets (counter returns to near-zero) will show 0 bandwidth
Testing Results:
- β 100-500 Mbps range: 132+ data points now recorded
- β 500+ Mbps range: 30+ data points detected
- β Peak traffic: ~905 Mbps correctly displayed (near 1Gbps)
Improvements:
- Accurate visualization for all bandwidth ranges
- No more false zero values for high-speed traffic
- Better VLAN interface monitoring
- Cleaner logs with better debugging information
