What's New
Version 1.29.0 introduces a new feature that makes it easier for your team to create new contacts and groups through magic links!
🎉 New Feature: Create Record Magic Links
What is it?
We've added a new magic link template that creates a simplified app on your D.T home screen for creating new contacts or groups!
THis is best used with the D.T Home Screen plugin.
How it works:
- Set up the link: Create a new magic link and choose the "Create Record" template type
- Assign to users: Each user gets their own personalized magic link (available in the "Your Apps" section on the user profile)
- Home screen app: Users will see a new app tile on their D.T Home Screen for creating records
- Simplified creation: Click the app to open a clean, simple form with only the fields you've configured
- Always Disciple.Tools: The new records are saved to Disciple Tools and marked as created by that user
Why this is helpful:
- Simplified interface: Much easier than navigating through the full contact/group creation process
- Customizable fields: Admins can choose exactly which fields appear on the creation form
- Quick access: Right on the home screen - no need to hunt through menus
- Perfect for new users: Great for team members who find the full D.T interface overwhelming
- Mobile friendly: Clean, simple design that works great on phones and tablets
Getting started:
- Go to your WordPress admin dashboard
- Click on Extensions (D.T) in the sidebar
- Click on Magic Links
- Click on the Templates tab
- Choose which record type you want to create templates for (Contacts or Groups)
- Click New Template
- Fill out the template details and choose "Create Record" as the Template Type
- Configure the fields: Choose exactly which fields should appear on the simplified creation form
- Users will see a new app tile on their User Profile and in the D.T Home Screen for easy record creation!
