v1.0.0 — Initial Release

Choose a tag to compare

@disforw disforw released this 05 May 12:30

Initial release of qnap-client — a fully async Python client for QNAP NAS, replacing the unmaintained python-qnapstats.

Why a new library?

python-qnapstats hasn't had a PyPI release in years. Fan sensor data and external drive support were added to the GitHub repo but never published. The library is synchronous, has no typed return values, and crashes on certain QNAP models (QNAP-473e eth_status5 KeyError, newVersion KeyError in firmware update API).

This library is the backing dependency for disforw/qnap — the standalone HACS integration for Home Assistant.

What's included

  • QnapClient — fully async aiohttp-based client with typed dataclass models
  • ContainerStationClient — Docker/LXC container management via the Container Station API
  • get_all() — fetches all NAS data in parallel with asyncio.gather
  • Fan speed monitoring (get_fans())
  • External drive support (get_external_drives())
  • Graceful handling of missing/unexpected API response fields
  • Proper exception hierarchy

Install

pip install qnap-client
