AB6A RigCtl 1.4
New: rotators and amplifiers
Devices now carry a type, and Hamlib's split between transceivers, rotators
and amplifiers follows from it — they use different daemons, model tables,
default ports and protocols.
| Type | Daemon | Default port | Models | The menu shows |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Radio | rigctld |
4532 | 312 | frequency and mode |
| Rotator | rotctld |
4533 | 57 | azimuth and elevation |
| Amplifier | ampctld |
4531 | 5 | SWR |
- Configure radios… gains a Type picker. Choosing one reloads the model list
from that type's Hamlib table and re-seeds the port from its default. - Ports are assigned from each type's default and step over the others', so
adding a second radio no longer claims 4533 — the port a rotator will want. - Baud and CI-V are transceiver settings; CI-V is not passed to
rotctldor
ampctld, which have no such option. - The CLI matches:
ab6a-rigctl models rotator, a type prompt when adding a
device, andtreporting azimuth/elevation or SWR as appropriate.
Existing configurations are unaffected — a profile without a type is a radio.
Requires Hamlib
brew install hamlibTested against Hamlib 4.7.2, including its dummy rotator and amplifier backends.
