Unpack the archive for your platform and run the rumd binary.

• Linux needs the X11/Wayland client libraries at runtime
  (libxkbcommon, libwayland-client, libX11), which most
  desktops already have.
• macOS: the binary is unsigned — if Gatekeeper blocks it,
  run xattr -cr rumd once, or right-click → Open.
• Windows: SmartScreen may warn on first run —
  "More info" → "Run anyway".
