NLang 0.6.1
NLang 0.6.1 repositions the project's public identity and hardens it
against regressions.
Positioning rewrite. README, CONTRIBUTING and the documentation site
now describe NLang as a statically-typed scripting language for embedding
and automation — with a small C++ host API, native bindings and in-process
debug hooks — and a testbed for AI-friendly language features. All
references to the private predecessor codebase were removed from the
shipped sources and documentation (~70 comment-level lineage references
across the compiler, VM, IDE and tests included).
Docs fix. The getting-started switch example no longer returns from
each case arm; the accumulated-result form makes the no-fall-through
semantics visible.
Public-text guard. A single pattern source now scans every tracked
file (wired into ctest as part of nlang_docs_pytest) and every release
package (verify_package.py), failing the build or the release when
predecessor references reappear in public prose.
Install (Windows): run NLang-0.6.1-win64.exe (defaults to
C:\Program Files\NLang, adds a Start Menu entry for the IDE; expect a
UAC prompt). No installation preferred? Unzip NLang-0.6.1-win64.zip to
any writable folder and run bin\nide.exe. The complete offline
documentation ships in the package and opens from the IDE's Help menu.
The executables link the MSVC runtime dynamically — install the
VC++ Redistributable
if Visual Studio 2022 is not on the machine.
