Prehistoric Life v1.0 — 164 extinct animals

164 natural-history plates, one per extinct animal, at each Xteink panel's native geometry.

Both are pre-dithered to the four native grey levels (#000/#555/#AAA/#FFF), so CrossInk maps them
1:1 to panel states — no re-quantization on the way in. Unzip and copy the folder to the device.

Coverage runs Cambrian to Pleistocene: Anomalocaris and Hallucigenia through Dimetrodon, the
dinosaurs, mosasaurs and pterosaurs, on to Megalodon, the woolly mammoth and a Neanderthal.

Almost everything on a plate is fetched, not written. Age range, stage, taxonomy, diet, ecology
and every fossil-locality dot come from the Paleobiology Database;
silhouettes come from PhyloPic; coastlines are Natural Earth drawn on an
Equal Earth projection. Only body size is hand-compiled — PBDB does not carry it — so those figures
are typical adult literature estimates and the plate labels them as such.

Two things worth knowing:

• The human is at true scale. The grey figure is 1.75 m drawn at the animal's own px-per-metre.
  Where a to-scale human would not fit, it is dropped and the scale bar says human omitted — it is
  never silently rescaled.
• The quoted dimension matches the pose. Side view scaled to body length, wings-out scaled to
  wingspan, upright scaled to standing height with the dimension bar turned vertical. The silhouette
  is chosen per taxon to suit.

Map dots are modern coordinates — where the fossils were found, not where the animal lived on
the continents of its day.

CC0 and CC BY; five plates carry a NonCommercial silhouette, the only one available for that taxon.

Pokédex v2.0 — all 151 Kanto, every panel size

All 151 original Kanto Pokémon as sleep screens. This release supersedes the three earlier Pokédex releases and carries every panel size in one place.

Using them with KOReader (works on Kobo and Kindle): copy the images to the device, then set gear icon → Screen → Sleep screen (called Screensaver on older builds) to show a random image from a folder, and point it at that folder.

On the Xteink X3/X4, open a .bmp in Browse Files and choose "set as sleep screen cover". Those files are 4-bit BMPs with the dither baked in, because those panels have only four grey levels. Every other set is PNG with no dithering, since 16-level panels handle greyscale themselves.

What's on a plate. Sprite, dex number, name, genus, types, base stats, height, weight, experience, catch rate and the dex entry. The larger sizes also carry the evolution chain, the Red/Blue level-up learnset, a breeding block (egg groups, hatch cycles, gender ratio, EV yield) and a type matchup panel.

kindle-scribe carries more. The Scribe is 300 ppi like the Paperwhite, so it is not the 1236×1648 sheet scaled up — that would only make every glyph physically 1.5× larger. Type sizes and sprite dimensions are identical and the extra 624×832 px holds new panels: the official artwork beside the pixel sprite, the type chart read offensively as well as defensively, the complete Red/Blue learnset instead of the first ten moves, and height against a 1.7 m trainer.

Three differences worth knowing. kindle-6in carries less than the others: 600×800 is too small for the dense panels to be legible, so it uses the compact layout and drops the learnset, matchup, breeding block and evolution chain. Only the two Kobo sets are in colour — Kaleido 3 shows colour at 150 ppi but black and white at the full 300 ppi, so colour is used on large blocks (red shell, type badges, stat bars, matchup chips) while body text stays black on white. And two sets are in Chinese: kindle-pw3-zh in Simplified and kindle-pw5-zh-hant in Traditional, using PokéAPI's own zh-Hans / zh-Hant names, categories, dex entries, moves and abilities — the official localisations, so 妙蛙种子 is what Nintendo calls Bulbasaur in the mainland and 妙蛙種子 is what it calls it in Taiwan. The Traditional set is not a character conversion of the Simplified one; the wording differs where the two diverge. Both embed Fusion Pixel 12px (OFL), a bitmap face on the same 12px grid as the Latin pixel fonts beside it — each with its own subset, since the Simplified face does not carry the Traditional forms.

kindle-pw5-zh-hant is the only set rendered 1:1. 1236×1648 is the sheet's own authoring size, so it needs no scaling; every other panel resamples the three bitmap pixel faces on the way to its geometry. Its Chinese dex text is the Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee line, the only version group carrying an entry for all 151 — there is no Chinese Red/Blue text, those games predate the Chinese releases.

Type matchups use the Generation I chart rather than the modern one, since the roster is Kanto and the move list is Red/Blue. It is derived from PokéAPI's past_damage_relations rather than transcribed, so Ghost does nothing to Psychic and Bug and Poison hit each other for 2×.

SCP Foundation file plates v1.0

The top 100 SCP Foundation articles by community rating, as pre-dithered sleep screens for the Xteink X3 and X4.

Each plate is a Foundation document: item number and title, object class with a Safe→Apollyon containment scale, up to four property icons derived from the article's own wiki tags, a photographic record where licensing allows, and a lightly redacted extract from the containment procedures and description.

Licence — please read. SCP Wiki content is CC BY-SA 3.0, which is share-alike, so these derivative plates are CC BY-SA 3.0 as well. Article author and licence are credited on every plate, and ATTRIBUTION.md (included in each zip) carries the full author list, per-image licences, and source links.

Images. SCP images are licensed individually, and the data dumps carry URLs with no licence information. Each article's licence box is parsed and only verifiable open licences are used — 46 of the 100 plates carry a figure. Images that were unlisted, or licensed on terms that don't permit redistribution, are omitted rather than assumed, and those plates give the space to the extract instead.

Redaction is applied by this project, not copied from the source: roughly one word in ten, weighted toward figures, sites and proper nouns. Genuine block runs written by article authors are preserved separately.

Content. Six entries were skipped and backfilled from below the cut — those whose core premise is child abuse or sustained torture. The wiki has no content-warning tag system fit for this, so that is an editorial judgement rather than a property of the data; the exclusions and reasons are listed in ATTRIBUTION.md. The remaining set is still horror fiction and is not gentle.

Magic: The Gathering card plates v1.0

104 iconic Magic cards as pre-dithered sleep screens for the Xteink X3 and X4.

Each plate is a facsimile of the card — mana cost, art, type line with set symbol, rules text and illustrator credit — rendered at the panel's native geometry and dithered to the four-level CrossInk palette so grayscale lands 1:1 instead of blowing out.

Star-chart sleep screens for the Xteink X3 and X4 — all 88 IAU constellations, pre-dithered 4-bit BMPs with the native four-gray palette.

On each plate: a stereographic chart centred on the constellation (north up, east left) with stars sized by magnitude down to mag 6.5, minimal stick figures, IAU boundaries and Messier objects; an all-sky Hammer projection locating it against the celestial equator and ecliptic; and a globe shading the band of Earth latitudes from which the entire figure clears the horizon at some point in the year. Area, rank, brightest star and culmination month round out the data block. Nothing is tied to a single observing site.

Sources: stars from the HYG database v4.1 (CC BY-SA), stick figures and IAU boundaries from d3-celestial (BSD-3). Areas, culmination months and visibility limits are computed from that geometry — the spherical-polygon areas agree with the published IAU values (Orion 594.1, Crux 68.5, Hydra 1302.5 deg²).
