Sidecar 1.16.0

Added

• Live video. Watch livestreams and replays in a player above the panel. Open the radio icon to browse Live, Upcoming and Past streams, or paste an HTTPS media address. The list loads more as you reach the end, with a Keep looking button when an older search finds none. Click Live at the top left of the player to show or hide it, and the title opens About stream. Save streams as bookmarks, which back up encrypted to your account and restore on another browser, with your local bookmarks kept either way. Chat with the host, with replies, mentions and reactions signed by your account, and zap the stream or a comment. The player shows viewers, the verified zap total, top zappers and how long the stream has run. The zap total pulses while it counts and grows as more relays answer, with a plus only when it is hard to pin down. Click the total or the bolt to open the zap sheet and the bolt again to close it; the sheet puts itself away once a zap is on its way, and pressing chat or another player control closes it too. A scheduled stream opens its details and can be bookmarked before it starts, and an ended stream plays its recording when one was published. Playback keeps going as you move around Sidecar, lock it or approve a signature, and closing the player stops it. Enable live video in Settings turns it off.
• Four new themes. Jazz Age and Departures join the dark themes, and Ben Day and Turnstile the light ones, for twenty in all.
• Longer auto-lock. Auto-lock can wait 30 minutes, 8 hours or 24 hours, and Never is now When browser closes, last in the list, which says what it does: your PIN is still asked once per browser session. The 1-minute choice is retired; an account that already chose it keeps it.
• Mute a person, a note or a thread from the notifications panel. The ⋮ menu on each notification has Mute for the person, Mute this note and replies, and Mute the whole thread, each with a second tap to confirm. A zap offers only the person who sent it. A mute goes into the encrypted part of your mute list, so no one reading the list sees who you muted. Everything else on your list is kept as it is, and nothing is written if your list or its private entries cannot be read first.
• Follow, unfollow, mute and unmute from search. Each search result, and the profile card it opens, has a follow button and a mute button, drawn as icons. Following takes one tap and the icon changes at once; muting and unmuting take a second tap. Unmuting removes a person wherever they are on your list, including mutes made in other clients. A follow or unfollow changes only that one entry of your follow list, relay hints and petnames included.

Changed

• A new layout for the profile card. One row of icons under the name: follow, mute, a bolt for Zap, and a link out to your client. Pay offer is inside the Zap panel, the lightning address sits above the bio with a thin line between them, and the card closes from a corner X.
• A saved draft says so when signing interrupts it. When a signing request interrupts the composer in the panel, “Draft saved” appears once the encrypted draft has been written.
• Writing a note and commenting on a page are in the compose menu.
• The streamer’s name and picture open their profile card in the panel, as chat names do.
• Sidecar bundles the full HLS.js build to play live video, with its source and hash recorded and checked at build time.

Removed

• Imwald is gone from the Welcome directory. The app has shut down, so its entry and icon no longer ship.

Fixed

• The wallet’s history updates when a payment arrives. A received payment moved the balance and raised a toast, but the list only caught up when you reopened the wallet.
• Clicking into a notification’s zap form no longer opens the note. The message and amount fields sent your client’s tab to the note.
