QuickTTY 0.1.0-alpha.2
First public alpha of QuickTTY, a native terminal for macOS built with Swift, AppKit, and embedded Ghostty.
Highlights
- Normal and drop-down Quake presentation modes without restarting shell processes
- Tabs, recursive split panes, pane navigation, and named workspaces
- Broadcast input within the active tab
- Workspace, tab, split layout, CWD, and window-frame persistence
- Text configuration with hot reload, an in-terminal config editor, and inline diagnostics
- Bundled Ghostty terminfo, shell integration, themes, and third-party notices
- Native Apple Silicon build with a new QuickTTY application icon
Requirements
- macOS 15 or later
- Apple Silicon (
arm64) only
Installation
- Download
QuickTTY-0.1.0-alpha.2-arm64.dmg. - Open the DMG and copy QuickTTY to Applications.
- Launch QuickTTY normally. The DMG is signed with Developer ID, notarized by Apple, and has a stapled ticket.
QuickTTY starts with its own clean configuration and state:
~/.config/quicktty/config~/Library/Application Support/QuickTTY/state.json
No data is migrated from earlier GhostTerm development builds.
Known limitations
- This is an alpha release and currently supports only Apple Silicon.
- Restored panes start fresh shells; saved custom commands are not executed automatically.
- Application shortcuts are not yet fully configurable.
- The app is distributed outside the Mac App Store and is not sandboxed.
