QuickTTY 0.1.0-beta.2

QuickTTY is a native terminal for macOS built with Swift, AppKit, and embedded Ghostty.

What’s new since beta.1

• Universal terminal progress support through standard OSC 9;4 sequences for any compatible CLI application
• Working, waiting, completed, and failed badges in tabs and the workspace selector
• Privacy-safe macOS notifications for background terminal activity, with navigation back to the exact workspace, tab, and pane
• Built-in Pi terminal progress compatibility; bundled manual integration examples for Claude Code and Codex
• Directional pane navigation now uses Cmd+Shift+Arrow by default
• Shell prompt-jump actions remain configurable but no longer occupy default shortcuts

• Mutually exclusive Normal and drop-down Quake presentation modes
• Tabs, recursive split panes, pane navigation, and named workspaces
• Broadcast input within the active tab
• Workspace, tab, split layout, CWD, title override, and window-frame persistence
• Text configuration with hot reload, an in-terminal config editor, and inline diagnostics
• Dynamic tab titles, manual inline rename, and native URL hover/open behavior

Agent progress setup

• Pi: open /settings and enable Terminal progress.
• Claude Code and Codex: merge the examples from QuickTTY.app/Contents/Resources/AgentIntegrations/ manually.

QuickTTY does not modify agent settings, shell startup files, or environment files automatically.

Requirements

• macOS 15 or later
• Apple Silicon (arm64) only

Installation

1. Download QuickTTY-0.1.0-beta.2-arm64.dmg.
2. Open the DMG and copy QuickTTY to Applications.
3. Launch QuickTTY normally. The DMG is signed with Developer ID, notarized by Apple, and has a stapled ticket.

QuickTTY uses:

• ~/.config/quicktty/config
• ~/Library/Application Support/QuickTTY/state.json

No data is migrated from earlier GhostTerm development builds.

Known limitations

• Apple Silicon only; Intel Macs are not supported.
• Restored panes start fresh shells; saved custom commands are not executed automatically.
• Interactive terminal search is not included yet.
• QuickTTY is distributed outside the Mac App Store and is not sandboxed.
