A .bdproj loads as one schematic: its visible layers merged, each with its own offset, rotation and mirror. Hidden layers are left out.
Saving: hold a stick, Alt+left-click one corner and Alt+right-click the opposite one (or K on each), press O, type a name and save. The file goes in the schematic folder with chest contents, signs and entities. In singleplayer chest contents are complete; on a multiplayer server containers are usually empty.
More detail: docs/formats.md.
BlockDesigner is the separate desktop editor. With its BlockCompanion Plugin (1.2.0 or later) on, the game and the app find each other on the same computer.
- Send to game: the open project appears in front of you in the game.
- Live: every change in BlockDesigner reaches the game a moment later and the ghosts follow.
- Grab from BD: asks BlockDesigner for the project it has open.
- Edit in BlockDesigner: opens a placed schematic in the app; the placement follows it.
- Back to the app: what is loaded, build progress and linked chest contents show in BlockCompanion Plugin.
-
Install mod... in the plugin puts the latest BlockCompanion into a game's
modsfolder.
Start and stop the link on the schematic screen's BlockDesigner step. See the link protocol.
