BoneWeaver v0.3.1 — Force-complete One-click Conversion

What changed

The panel-top 全自动转换并重建 L 键骨链 action now starts immediately and
must not stop on workflow policy checks. The confirmation dialog was removed.
Action, NLA, Driver, bone/object Constraint, non-identity Pose, B-Bone segments,
Bone parenting, envelope deformation, duplicate Armature modifiers, transform
conditions, and mesh diagnostics are advisory only.

Shared Armature data is made single-user before planning. Linked data is
localized when Blender permits it. Mesh and neutral-evaluation diagnostics are
best-effort: skipped or failed diagnostics are recorded in the Snapshot and UI
summary but do not roll back a completed conversion. Actual Blender edit
exceptions still roll back to avoid a half-mutated Armature.

The separate scoped Physics Graph Apply retains its original strict safety
contract.

Installation

Download boneweaver-0.3.1.zip, then use Edit > Preferences > Extensions >
Install from Disk
in Blender 4.2 or newer.

Validation

  • Blender 5.2.0 LTS RC build 710df102694f.
  • 223/223 Blender-hosted automated tests passed.
  • A single combined fixture containing every previous Quick Reorient policy
blocker completed with FINISHED, BLOCKER=0, native connectivity, and exact
    Restore.
  • A raw 157-bone .uemodel completed 151 first-run mutations and an existing
x1.blend completed 106; both produced 56 native components and 92 connected
edges, selected finger/hair/ribbon/spine chains with native L, produced zero
second-run mutations, restored exactly, and preserved source hashes.
  • The packaged extension passed isolated installation and three repeated
    unregister/register cycles.

BoneWeaver v0.3.0 - One-click Native Linked Reorientation

BoneWeaver v0.3.0 — One-click Native Linked Reorientation

Highlights

  • Added a panel-top 全自动转换并重建 L 键骨链 button that completes
whole-Armature conversion, native hierarchy reconstruction, validation, and
Snapshot creation in one confirmed operation.
  • Added clean-room UEFormat-compatible reorientation for importer metadata,
already-reoriented UEFormat data, and generic joint hierarchies.
  • Rebuilds safe maximal linear segments with native Blender connectivity so the
Edit Mode L key works on finger, hair, ribbon, spine, and similar chains.
  • Keeps branches, Socket bones, controls, and unsafe boundaries disconnected.
  • Added exact conflict-aware Restore, idempotence, automatic rollback, and
    whole-Armature/mesh invariants.

Safety and data integrity

The action may change only EditBone tail, roll, and use_connect. It does
not change heads, parents, names, weights, meshes, modifiers, animation data,
constraints, drivers, or UEFormat animation metadata. A persistent Snapshot is
written before mutation. Post-validation failure restores the original state;
manual edits after a successful conversion cause Restore to refuse the
overwrite.

Installation

Download boneweaver-0.3.0.zip, then use Edit > Preferences > Extensions >
Install from Disk
in Blender 4.2 or newer. No external Python dependencies are
required.

Validation evidence

  • Blender 5.2.0 LTS RC build 710df102694f.
  • 220/220 Blender-hosted automated tests passed.
  • Compared 154 eligible bones against UEFormat 1.0.0 at fixed commit
    8da96d65f669ca688dbf7c0141f800605a6c16e6: maximum direction error
    0.033878443821242374°, maximum length error 1.1644113720454818e-7,
maximum Head and Socket error 0, and no parent differences.
  • A raw 157-bone .uemodel completed one-click conversion, native L
selection checks on finger/hair/ribbon/spine components, idempotent second
execution, and exact Restore without changing its source hash.
  • Existing x1.blend completed the same acceptance path under
--factory-startup; its source hash also remained unchanged.
  • The packaged extension passed isolated installation and three repeated
    unregister/register cycles.

Known limitations

  • The tool changes rest-bone display orientation but does not rewrite UEFormat
post_quat animation metadata or retarget animation bases.
  • Branches intentionally delimit native linked components.
  • Blender 4.2 is the manifest minimum; local executable validation used the
    Blender 5.2 build above.

BoneWeaver v0.2.0 — Initial Public Preview

@dotm5 dotm5 released this 12 Jul 10:47

BoneWeaver v0.2.0 — Initial Public Preview

Highlights

  • Read-only hierarchy inspection with Parent/Root/Descendant overlays and
    explicit branch continuation.
  • Confirmed semantic discovery for secondary-motion chains.
  • Immutable Physics Graph planning, preview, conservative terminal inference,
    and opt-in visual chain cleanup.
  • BoneX and Wiggle-oriented rotation/stretch profiles without proxy-bone or
    weight mutations.

Safety and data integrity

Analyze, inspection, and discovery do not modify rest geometry. Apply is limited
to selected EditBone tail, roll, and use_connect, requires a current frozen
plan, writes a persistent Snapshot, records a mutation ledger, validates neutral
evaluated meshes, and rolls back on failure. Export is gated and independently
reopened in a second Blender process before success is reported.

Installation

Download boneweaver-0.2.0.zip, then use Edit > Preferences > Extensions >
Install from Disk
in Blender 4.2 or newer. No external Python dependencies are
required.

Validation evidence

  • Blender 5.2.0 LTS RC build 710df102694f.
  • 208/208 Blender-hosted automated tests passed.
  • A real UE asset containing 157 bones and 25,610 vertices completed Analyze,
Apply, export, and independent reopen validation.
  • The packaged extension passed an isolated installation and repeated
    registration/unregistration cycle.

Known limitations

  • BoneWeaver prepares physics chains; it does not retarget UE animation bases.
  • Blender 4.2 is the manifest minimum; local release validation used the Blender
    5.2 build above.
  • BoneX and Wiggle behavior remains dependent on project-specific physics tuning.
  • Unsafe Actions, NLA, drivers, constraints, pose state, branch ambiguity, and
low-confidence terminal evidence intentionally block Apply.
