ExecutionEngineException with runtime-async=on

Description

I am getting a ExecutionEngineException with runtime-async=on with .NET 11 and 11.0.100-preview.1.26104.118 in a unit test while debugging it. This is either a known issue or something I can try to provide some details if it is helpful to you.

How can I provide more information? (What information would you need?)

Expected behavior

Await call does not throw ExecutionEngineException.

Actual behavior

ExecutionEngineException - but I see no further details in the exception.

Run test in Debug in VS with debugger attached: Http3IntegrationTests.cs / Get_NoContent()

The test is expected to fail with HttpProtocolException / HttpRequestException, but with async enabled I get the following error:

(and most of the times the whole VS crashes with the Debug session, laptop gets hot and the CPU cooler keeps running, but I see nothing in the TaskManager using resources.)

Then switch async off:

<Features>$(Features);runtime-async=off</Features> in the CHttpServer and CHttpServer.Tests csproj-s and the test fails with the expected exceptions: HttpProtocolException / HttpRequestException.

Please note that the test is opening a local http/3 server on port 7224 and using a HttpClient to connect to it.

I notice that I can only observe the error, when the VS debugging session is attached. (from CLI it looks OK)

I tried adding this explicitly to the global.json ( "sdk": { "version": "11.0.100-preview.1.26104.118" } ) but did not help.

EDIT: running in VSCode the terminal says (and breakpoint hit in the test):
