Highlights

  • A new header: Switch projects, search, filter on any field, sort by several keys and pick the fields you see, all in one place. Set it up once, save it as a view, and come back to it in one click.
  • A board per team: Group the board by assignee, tag, or a custom field like "team", and see who is overloaded at a glance. (#392)
  • Filter by what you track: "Art tasks due this month with no assignee" is one filter now, custom fields included. (#216)
  • Sort like you think: Priority, then due date, then title, or... the other way around. (#196)
  • Only the fields you use: Working solo? Hide the assignee column, resize the rest, and choose what a card shows. (#217)
  • A timeline without weekends: Zoom from days to years with Ctrl+scroll, and drop weekends and holidays from the chart. (#338)
  • Fits a phone: The views now adapt to small screens, so planning on the go actually works.

Added

  • Added "Open as note" to the project overview and the tab's "More options" menu

  • Filters can now exclude values, match empty fields, and compare numbers and date ranges
  • Custom fields can now be left out of the filter picker
  • Added a way back when filters hide every task, naming the filter to remove
  • Tables and boards can now sort by up to three keys
  • Table column headers can now add another sort key with Shift-click
  • Saved views can now be renamed, reordered, and starred as the view to open with
  • Added Ctrl+S (Cmd+S on macOS) to save changes to the current saved view
  • Boards can now put their columns by priority, assignee, tag, type, project, or a custom field
  • Board columns can now be reordered and hidden, and empty columns left out
  • Added the "Fields" menu for choosing table columns, kanban card fields, and timeline labels
  • Table columns can now be resized by dragging the edge of their header
  • The timeline can now zoom in and out, with the zoom buttons or Ctrl+scroll
  • The timeline can now leave out weekends and holidays, with holidays set per vault

  • The project list's columns can now be hidden and reordered from the "Fields" menu

Changed

  • The board's "Group" button now names its field and highlights only after the columns are changed
  • Tab titles now show the whole project or task name instead of the first 10 characters
  • Project notes now open on their project page instead of in Obsidian's editor
  • The table now remembers its sort order after the view is closed and reopened
  • Redesigned the top of the task views into one row with a separate filter bar
  • The project list now shares the header row of the task views
  • Saved views now open from one menu instead of a row of buttons
  • Renamed the Gantt view to Timeline
  • The timeline scale is now kept per view and in saved views
  • Board cards now follow the sort order of the view
  • Changing a saved view now marks it unsaved instead of switching back to all tasks
  • Search text is no longer saved with a view. Saved views that searched now filter by title.
  • In a narrow pane, the header now folds its controls into "View options" and filters into a count
  • On phones, the header now takes two rows and the add button floats over the view
  • Table column widths set on a phone now stay on that phone
  • Tasks opened in a tab now navigate like note tabs, with back and forward history
  • Ctrl-clicking a link in a task description now keeps the task editor open
  • The project switcher now also chooses sub-projects, a folder, or all projects for the view

Removed

  • Removed the "Show subtasks" and "Show description preview" settings in favor of "Fields". Boards keep their choice.
  • Removed the projects button next to the project name in favor of the project switcher

  • Fixed icon buttons such as row actions and remove buttons not responding to Enter or Space
  • Fixed links to notes in a task description not opening when tasks open in a tab (#374)
  • Fixed long descriptions being cut off at the bottom while editing them in the task editor
  • Fixed "This project" opening a different project after widening the scope of the task views
