Scrollr Desktop v1.1.0 — Your ticker, rebuilt around widgets
🧩 Your ticker, rebuilt around widgets
The old five channels are gone. In their place: a catalog of 30+ widgets, where you add exactly what you follow and nothing you don't.
- Every sports league is its own widget — NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and ten more, including new arrivals MLS, UFC, AFL, Premier League, La Liga, Champions League, and college football & basketball. Add the three you care about; skip the rest.
- Stocks and Crypto are separate widgets now, so your BTC chart stops photobombing your portfolio.
- News comes as ten curated outlets (BBC, NPR, The Guardian, Bloomberg, and more) plus a Custom RSS widget that swallows any feed URL you paste into it.
- Every widget has its own Configure page — the NFL widget asks about your favorite team, not which league you meant. Configure straight from the catalog, before you even add it.
⚡ Real-time for everyone
Live streaming updates — previously an Ultimate exclusive — are now on every plan, including Free. When a score changes or a price ticks, it's in your ticker the same second. No more polling intervals, no more tiers of freshness.
🔮 New widget: Kalshi prediction markets
Live event-contract prices from Kalshi, right in your ticker — elections, weather, economics, sports. And if you trade on Kalshi yourself, the optional My Positions view shows your live P&L using your own API key, which never leaves your device (it lives in your OS keychain, and the app is strictly read-only — it can't touch your orders).
🎟 Plans got radically simpler
One rule now: how many widgets you run at once. Free runs 3, Uplink 6, Pro 12, Ultimate unlimited — and inside every widget, everything is unlimited on every plan. Track 500 stocks in one Stocks widget; it still costs one slot. All the old per-feature caps (symbols, feeds, leagues) are gone.
- Lifetime is now permanent Ultimate. One payment, every Ultimate feature, forever — for the 128 founding-member slots.
- If you ever downgrade, your newest widgets over the new limit are simply switched off, never deleted — re-enable them any time you upgrade back.
📜 A releases page, finally
You're reading it because of it: release notes now live at myscrollr.com/releases and inside the app (Support → What's New) — a sortable, plain-English history of every version, no commit-log archaeology required.
🐛 Fixes
- Fixed a rare server-side crash that could briefly interrupt live updates for everyone until the service restarted.
- Fixed live data silently stopping for a sports or finance widget after removing a sibling widget from the same source.
- Fixed the widget catalog showing "limit reached" for slots you actually had free.
🔧 Under the hood
The whole release got an adversarial multi-agent review pass, the live-update engine is now proven race-free at 60,000 concurrent connections, and your existing setup migrates automatically — every widget you had keeps running, even if you're over your plan's new slot count. The app will also now tell you clearly when a version is too old for the service, instead of quietly showing empty widgets.
📦 Updating
This update is required. Older versions can't read the new widget model — until you update, the app will show empty widget lists. Existing installs update automatically on next launch (accept the prompt and restart). Fresh installs:
