A small release about one question: what is on my bar right now? It used to have two answers. Now it has one, and you can see it without opening anything.

👁️ At a glance

Whether a widget is on the bar is one fact, shown the same way everywhere. The ticker's right-click menu and the app's sidebar each kept their own idea of it, and they drifted: a widget could read as on in one place and off in the other, and flipping it in one took a beat to show in the other. Both now go through the same switch, flip instantly, and can no longer disagree.

A widget that is off the bar looks off. In the sidebar its name and icon recede and a closed eye sits beside it, whether the sidebar is open or collapsed. Hover a widget that is on and an open eye appears in its colour; one click takes it off, one click puts it back. Nothing to open, nothing to remember.

The ticker lost its hover toolbar. The controls that slid in on the right edge of the bar are gone, and the right-click menu holds only what matters: which widgets are on, the ticker's position, always on top, and the app.

📰 News

The Drudge Report is in the catalog as a news widget.

Custom RSS feeds are off the add grid for now while their feed view gets another pass. If you already have one, nothing changes: it still renders and still counts against your slots.

🐛 Fixes

  • College football standings could come up empty on the bar when the new season's table had not been posted yet. The bar now shows the newest season that actually has one.
