v2.5.1 (refresh — 2026-05-12)

Same semver, new tag target. This release replaces the earlier v2.5.1 tag so it points at the current main commit. The plugin constant ELEMENTTEST_VERSION is still 2.5.1. There are no breaking changes, schema changes, or new migrations—only documentation and in-admin guidance shipped after the first v2.5.1 publish.

What is new in this refresh

  • WordPress admin: ElementTest → GA4 — static operator guide (includes/views/ga4.php) covering what gets sent to GA4, DebugView vs Realtime vs standard reports, marking elementtest_converted as a key event, registering custom dimensions / the revenue_value metric, PII rules, and known limitations.
  • Packaged docs: GA4 sections expanded in readme.txt and README.md. The GitHub README describes public installs only (releases link below), with no references to private build tooling.

Unchanged from the original v2.5.1 feature set

Optional GA4 forwarding for variant conversions (elementtest_converted, transport_type: 'beacon'), WooCommerce add-to-cart GA4 path alignment, Run diagnostic in settings, PII warnings on test/variant names, wildcard pageview URL matching (PR #45), etc. See CHANGELOG.md for the full technical changelog.

Install

Download elementtest-pro-2.5.1.zip from Assets below. Unzip so WordPress has a top-level elementtest-pro/ folder under wp-content/plugins/, then activate ElementTest Pro.
