CTR Archipelago 0.2.4 is out. Here's the short version. Full release notes are on AP-Pie.

What's new since 0.2.3
- Generation: big rooms generate much faster.
- Fewer refused YAMLs: about 4 in 10 random YAMLs got refused in our tests, down from almost 8 in 10. Every YAML that worked on 0.2.3 still works.
- Race-loss DeathLink: only sends when you haven't won that race yet and it's in logic for you. Rooms from before 0.2.4 keep the old rule.
- Trial pads: the Slide Coliseum and Turbo Track pads no longer trap you in the warp after a Collect.
- Bosses: only bosses you beat yourself count, so a Collect can't finish a Bosses goal or softlock any_percent (#458).
- Itemsanity: finished pads stay open if you have a weapon with an open check (#452).
- Slide Coliseum: if a seed has fewer than 10 Sapphire Relics, the pad opens at the number it has.
- Extracted assets: no more BIN prompt on every launch (#444).
- Demo Camera trap: L2 no longer breaks it (#454).
Downloads
On Windows, grab ctr-archipelago-v0.2.4-windows-x86.zip. On Linux or Steam Deck, grab ctr-archipelago-v0.2.4-linux-x86.tar.gz (glibc 2.36 or newer). Both include the client and the matching ctr.apworld. You can keep playing a 0.2.3 room on the 0.2.4 client. For new seeds, use the 0.2.4 client and APWorld together. Hosting needs Archipelago 0.6.7 or newer, and 0.6.8 works too.
The separate ctr.apworld and Crash.Team.Racing.yaml are for hosts. Use the .sha256 files to check your downloads. manifest.json and manifest.json.minisig are the signed manifest; the full notes explain how to check it. The .debug files help with crash reports. You don't need them to play. You need your own NTSC-U disc, no game data is included. The client isn't code-signed.
Known issues: a full-accessibility CTR slot next to a minimal-accessibility slot can fail to generate on some seeds (just generate again). You may also see short pauses on screen changes, stalls from big reconnect backlogs (#147), or invisible podium characters (#282).

Found a problem?
Open a GitHub issue with your client version, platform, seed or YAML and what happened. For a support bundle, run support-bundle.bat on Windows or support-bundle.sh on Linux. Look through it before attaching it. It doesn't upload anything by itself. Questions are welcome in the Crash Team Racing channel on the Archipelago Discord.
