LazyVM1.0
First release of LazyVM: builds and looks after Hyper-V development VMs on a Windows host, with the Windows 11 90-day evaluation handled for you.
Download
Massokissed.LazyVM-1.0.0.zip below. Extract it into the folder you want everything to live in, for example D:\DevVM, which creates D:\DevVM\Scripts. Then follow the Quick start.
You also need the Windows 11 Enterprise Evaluation ISO, downloaded by hand from the Microsoft Evaluation Center. It is not included, and the script cannot download it: it sits behind a registration form.
What it does
- Builds a VM unattended: Windows 11, Visual Studio 2026, SSMS 22, SQL Server 2022 Developer Edition and the tools in its tooling list.
- Records tooling changes made in the guest every day, with a Hyper-V checkpoint for each, so any version can be returned to with
-Revert. - Rearms the evaluation while it can, then captures your state, rebuilds the VM and puts everything back.
- Keeps source on a Dev Drive that rebuilds never touch.
- Runs several VMs on one host.
The full operator guide, Build-LazyVM-Guide.docx, is in the zip.
