SalsaNOW v1.6.8

.NET

  • Installs .NET runtimes 5.0 through 10 at startup if they are missing
  • Uses official runtime zips only — no extra installer .exe

Desktop

  • External batch scripts and helper exes (file associations, Steam shortcut, StartHookWindow closer, Open-Shell startup) now run inside SalsaNOW
  • File associations: Notepad++ for text/config, PeaZip for archives
  • Desktop context menu: Change Wallpaper, Restart Steam
  • Steam shortcut created from steam.exe when one is not already saved
  • Open-Shell pins, menu XML load, and Explorer++ registry reset
  • StartHookWindow is closed before Open-Shell starts

First-run notice

  • One-time Windows dialog (I understand) covering Shutdown Session, persistent paths, anti-cheat, and admin-required software

App updates

  • Faster startup
  • Optional version field on normal and silent apps
  • 1.0.0 is the baseline (no re-download if already installed)
  • Any higher version triggers an update and is logged
