v0.3.0 — update checker

Choose a tag to compare

@dpovey dpovey released this 08 May 04:39

What's new

  • Check for Updates… item in the menu bar menu — pings the GitHub API for the latest release and offers to open the release page when a newer version is available.
  • Silent on-launch check (5s after start, throttled to once per 24 hours) that pops a dialog only when there's actually an update.

Install

  1. Download `ChromeDispatch-0.3.0.dmg`, drag the app to `/Applications`.
  2. First launch: right-click → Open (unsigned, Gatekeeper warns once).

Upgrading

Replace the bundle in `/Applications`. Existing mappings carry over unchanged.

v0.2.0 — portable mappings

Choose a tag to compare

@dpovey dpovey released this 08 May 04:34

What's new

  • Portable mappings — rules now store the Google account email alongside the local Chrome profile directory. The same rule routes correctly across Macs even when the local profile directory differs (e.g. `Profile 2` here, `Profile 5` there).
  • Export / Import — new buttons in the Saved sites header of the Mappings window. Export writes a JSON file; Import merges (entries with matching host+path overwrite, others append). Imports for accounts you haven't signed into Chrome on this Mac fall through to the picker on first use.
  • Migration — existing mappings are backfilled with email automatically the next time the Mappings window is opened.

Install

  1. Download `ChromeDispatch-0.2.0.dmg` and drag the app to `/Applications`.
  2. First launch: right-click → Open (unsigned build, Gatekeeper warns once).
  3. System Settings → Default Web Browser → Chrome Dispatch.

Upgrading from 0.1.0

Replace the app bundle in `/Applications`. Your existing `mappings.json` is read transparently — no manual migration needed.

v0.1.0 — initial release

Choose a tag to compare

@dpovey dpovey released this 08 May 04:06

First tagged release of Chrome Dispatch.

Install

  1. Download ChromeDispatch-0.1.0.dmg
  2. Open it and drag Chrome Dispatch to /Applications
  3. First launch: right-click the app → Open (the build is unsigned, so Gatekeeper will warn the first time)
  4. Open System Settings → Default Web Browser and select Chrome Dispatch

Once it's the default browser, http(s) link clicks route through the app: known host/path mappings open directly in the chosen Chrome profile, unknown ones show a profile picker. HTML files opened from Finder also flow through dispatch (Default profile, or hold Option for the picker).

Features

  • Per-host (and optional path-prefix) Chrome profile routing
  • Picker UI for unmapped URLs with optional "remember this choice"
  • Option-click any link to override an existing mapping
  • HTML files from Finder route to Default profile (Option for picker)
  • Menu bar status item for managing mappings
